Alexandre Giquel, Noizay
Alexandre Giquel's domaine is just a little over 3 hectares, all organic and bio certified. These fall within two parcels in Vouvray, Clos Chapon (usually goes in "Gallus") and "Montcontour" around the castle of the same name. Alexandre works everything with horses, no tractors in his vineyards.
He crafts all the wines in a small troglodyte cellar in Noizay (within the Vouvray AOC as all vouvray has to be vinified and raised within the AOC). His project began in 2017 with the Huit-Launay négoce wines, which continues to this day to source organic fruit from around the Loire, and now includes Vouvray as well.

100% Chenin blend of both his usual cuvées (Gallus and Montcontour) as he got a tiny harvest and couldn't make both wines separately. |
Mécanique des Fluides 100% Chenin on limestone, Spends a long time on the lees, just released. Bright, clean, and mineral-driven.

Multitude 100% Chenin (90 y o vines). Vouvray and Vernous, Clay/silex over limestone, 100% barrique. Fermented for over a year.

Huit Launay Pineau d'Aunis, Vendomois Organic Pineau d'Aunis and Cabernet Franc sourced from the Loire Valley.

Huit Launay Pet Nat Rosé 100% Gamay. Clay and silt soil, direct pressed, tank fermentation, bottled with 17g of residual sugar, disgorged in early summer.
