Vincent Bergeron has been working as Frantz Saumon's right-hand man for years, and started making his own wines in Frantz's old cellar 4 years ago. He inherited a parcel of Pinot Noir from Frantz, plus a little bit of Chenin already planted on the Maison Marchandelle terroir in Montlouis, as well as a small plot he planted on the Cote Rotie Terroir, also in Montlouis.
Having learned everything about winemaking from his years with Frantz, in the cellar everything is done the natural way: indigenous yeasts, various fermentation and aging vessels, and very little sulfur additions. To us, we see a similar vein in his wines as we've been tasting for the past decade with Frantz, no doubt the imprint of this cave on the winemaking process. It's a thrilling thing to experience.

WINES
Pink World:
100% pinot noir mainly from a Parcel Frantz worked for a few years (previously owned by "Les Loges de la Folie") and the rest from a parcel of pinot he planted himself in 2017. Petillant Naturel that took a long time to finish due to a hot vintage and high alcohol potential (14%).
The cuvée is a nod to his sister whose name is "Rosemonde", literally "Pink World". It's a long and complex bottle with some secondary pinot flavors that remind us a bit of some Champenois rosés.
Certains L'aiment Sec, Montlouis AOC:
Zero sulfur, 3.5grams/liter residual sugar, Limestone and sandy soils (Maison Marchandelle) vinified in tank for seven months plus a little time in used barrique. Clean, long, pretty, with just a little bit of texture from the RS but certainly not sweet-feeling. It's still a high PH wine. While Vincent is doing his own thing and we don't want to directly compare this to Frantz's wines (he tries to push the wines to be as dry as possible), but there is clearly a narrative coming out of this cellar.
